Antique transferware lamp Jenny Lind pattern Royal Staffordshire new wiring  A.J. Wilkinson pottery Burslem Staffordshire. The lamp was named after Jenn Lind, Suprano, aka the Swedish Nightingale. Her singing and visit to America n the 1850's became a mania, surpassing the Beetles mania of the 1960's. She was kind and gave freely to the poor and many charities. To the thrill of many Swedish immigrants she  performed at the Old Swedes Church in Delaware and is fondly remembered to this day for her beautiful operatic voice and her kindness.     The Arthur. j Wilkinson pottery mark and the No8 was visible when the lamp was being rewired.
The lamp does have crazing, it has new wiring and socket, the harp is the original.The approximate height from the metal stand to the finial,
19 inches,  the porcelain lamp is about 4 " in diameter. Please
