This piece of carved black coral is absolutely gorgeous. Signed by the artist Frank Schirman and dated 1967, this is a rare and lovely piece of Hawaiian art. Look at the photos to see all of the beautiful details - her pretty eyes, lovely fingers, toes. Named "Nani," meaning "Pretty" and "Beautiful" this is stunning. You will not be disappointed. About the artist:
Frank Schirman started working with driftwood (Milo wood) found along the Hawaiian Beaches in the mid 1950s. Later he bagan to experiment with black coral. In the later 1960s the artist established a business called Schirman Inc. "Hawaiian Beauties with Exotic Black Coral." The artist died in 1978 but his artwork remains sought after and treasured.
