    Description

In 1974 my brother, sister, friend and I went to the big island of Hawaii, specifically the Kona Gold Coast, across the island from the airport.  One of the sites we visited was City of Refuge, a reproduced village of what Hawaiian life was.  This was a refuge for warriors to recuperate.  (The best snorkeling I think I've ever done.)
There were many tourist displays, such as hat makers, poi, carving, etc.
I met Jerry Crusat there, and we became friends.  During that trip, I went to his house and purchased two carvings.  Northwest Orient destroyed one of them.  This is the other one.
This lady is carved out of Milowood, and measures 22" tall by 10" wide at the top "headdress".
A beautiful piece that would cost big bucks now.
(It is heavy, hence the shipping charge)
