    Description

    This is a gorgeous hand-crafted and hand-painted gourd from Hawaii.  It was my mother's and I think it dates from the late 70's or early 80's when her sister and mother both lived on the Big Island.  It is an IPU PAWEHE.
    It measures about 9.5 to 10.0 inches in diameter and stands about 7.5 inches tall, not including the stem.  It has Polynesian designs carved at its four quadrants.  The top can be removed and is decorated with more geometric carvings and dyed red and black with natural stains.
    It will come with the lid packed inside the body of the gourd to protect the dried stem.   Please be very careful removing it from the interior of the gourd.
