    Description

Lahaina arts society print 1981, Macario Pascual "The Caneworker" Hawaii Maui.
20x30 Framed poster. I assume the Society commissioned him to produce a very limited number of these poster prints. He has signed it as you can see in the picture. There are a few water stains on the bottom of the poster but unless you are close they are not noticeable. I don’t know a lot about this print but I do know when I listed it, it was the only one.
    About the Artist
Macario Pascual is an award-winning studio and plein air artist from Maui. He's early introduction to oil painting was at the age of 12 followed by an art scholarship award from the Lahaina Arts Society. In 1974, his first solo exhibition was held at their main gallery while still a senior in high school. Pascual went on to study art at the University of Hawaii on an art and a full tennis scholarship, graduating with a BFA Degree in Design in 1979.
For the past 46 years, Pascual has become well-known for his series of paintings of light and subjects close to his heart- immigration life, the workers, and the surrounding landscape. On the national stage, juried shows have accepted his studio and plein air artworks, including paintings from travels abroad. He has won Best in Show, Artist Choice, and other top awards on the regional and national level from Hawaii to New York and Massachusetts.
His paintings are in the permanent collection of the Hawaii State Museum, State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, City and County of Honolulu, and for over a decade his art hung in the capital office of former Governor Ben Cayetano. Others include corporate and private collections include Alexander and Baldwin, Inc., Baldwin Pacific Corporation, Fletcher Pacific Construction, U. S. Senator Daniel Inouye, Ihilani Resorts, Malcolm MacNaughton (former CEO of Castle and Cooke), and many others here and around the world.
