Beautiful Clarice Cliff antique art deco plate in the Fantastique shape. Painted with vibrant colors, mostly yellow and green, and a stylized floral design, the name unknown to me. Not stamped BIZARRE but featuring a very attractive and colorful design with flowers and gingham patterned leaves.
Also included in this auction is a gorgeous and lavishly illustrated Christie's Clarice Cliff auction catalogue from November 1998, which is in excellent condition.
The brightly colored plate measures approx. 9” (22cm) wide. The condition is very good with some minor age related wear...a bit of color loss to the edge and some scratches visible when the plate is tilted one way. Some clean crazing visible upon close inspection. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS
MARKS: A.J. Wilkinson Royal Staffordshire Pottery and Clarice Cliff stamps. Also impressed with a diamond shape and numerals, possibly 37. SEE PHOTOS
