    Description

    VINTAGE HAND CARVED HAWAIIAN KOA WOOD CALABASH BOWL
    Item for sale is a vintage hand carved 12"/13" (DIA.)  X 3.5" (HT.) KOA WOOD CALABASH BOWL from Hawaii
    . The bowl is signed on the bottom "RARE KOA WOOD MADE IN HAWAII)
    . It is in very good vintage condition with no splits, dents, or holes
    . Finish is partly worn or flaked on rim, and in a few spots on the interior bottom and on outside edges
    . Photos also show an area that received some type of resin fill. The interior bottom of the bowl has an interesting natural 'splash' pattern as shown in photos. This stain is inherent to the wood grain, and can be seen on the underside of the bowl as well. The bowl was hand carved. It is out of round and wobbly on its base. Age is unknown. Bowl walls are a consistent 1/4" thickness.
