Vintage XL Wood Carved Tiki Fish Box w Lid- old polynesian hawaiiana island art

Description

Great piece of maker-made woodworking. Looks like it was likely a handcraft item brought back from an island as a gift or souvenir. Though where it came from is lost to time, there is a small square of paper glued to the inside that reads Uncle Stu 1968. I've seen other examples that are not as large or with this amount of detailing- a true one of a kind art!
Lidded with etched line scales and eye, and a nicely done handle on top. Got a nice flow and curve overall, being a nice enough size to a be a catch-all, stash box, or maybe even find a place as a special service piece. As always, you put what you want in it! If you love having unique work that no one else will have, this is for you.
Condition: excellent, no chips, cracks, repairs. Some light wear and fade to the wood typical of age.
